Eligibility:

  1. Only recognized nursing institutions, hospitals, nursing colleges, professional nursing organizations, and healthcare institutions involved in nursing education or nursing services are eligible to apply for the conduct of a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programme.
  2. The applicant institution must comply with the norms and standards prescribed by the Council from time to time.
  3. The proposed CNE programme must be relevant to nursing education, nursing practice, nursing administration, or nursing research.
  4. The institution must propose qualified and competent resource persons, with at least one resource person being a registered nurse.
  5. The applicant institution must agree to adhere to all guidelines, conditions, and decisions of the Council related to the conduct of CNE programmes.

Selection:

  1. All applications received for conducting a CNE programme shall be scrutinized by the Council for completeness, relevance, and compliance with the prescribed guidelines.
  2. The Council shall assess the:
    • Objectives of the CNE programme
    • Target audience and number of participants
    • Programme content and schedule
    • Qualifications and suitability of resource persons
    • Duration of the programme and proposed credit hours
  3. Credit hours and credit points shall be awarded strictly in accordance with the norms as adopted by the Council from time to time.
  4. Based on the scrutiny, the Council may:
    • Approve the CNE programme with specified credit hours/credit points, or
    • Seek clarification or additional information, or
    • Reject the application if it does not meet the prescribed criteria.
  5. The decision of the Council regarding the selection, approval, and allotment of credit hours/credit points shall be final and binding.
  6. Approval of the CNE programme shall be subject to:
    • Successful conduct of the programme,
    • Submission of a satisfactory Observer’s report by the Council‑nominated Observer.
    • Submission and acceptance of the post‑programme descriptive report with supporting documents by the organising institution.
